No more trips to the library!

As some of you may know, I'm an avid reader. Not just a weekend reader ... no, I devour 2 - 3 books a week. Because I'm also a self-proclaimed cheapskate, I have a very close relationship with the local library. I try to get to the library at least once or twice a week, depending on when books are due or when books on hold are available. Normally, running to the library wouldn't be a big deal. Except, when I'm in prep, EVERYTHING feels like a big deal.
Books I currently have checked out from the library.
I've been lusting over the NookColor ever since my mom got one for Christmas. But again, since I'm a cheapskate, I held off on buying one. And then earlier this week, my parents informed me they wanted to buy me a Nook as an early birthday present. Hooray!
Oooooh! Pretty Nook!
I'm so excited not to have to drag around big, heavy, hardcover library books anymore! I can just pack up my Nook and hit the cardio deck! I also discovered the Nook can hold music and videos.

Doing cardio never looked so appealing!

Do you read, watch videos or TV, or listen to music, while you do cardio?

  1. I can only watch tv or listen to music during cardio, but I can only run to Classical... yeah, it always feels a little epic. ;) I've always wished and tried to read during cardio... but I get really dizzy. haha!

  3. I like the new look around here!

Anyways, I have a kindle and my cell phone gets me through the difficult cardio times. I can read my rss blog feeds, kindle books on my phone, twitter and facebook....what more can a girl ask for?

  4. Enjoy! I love reading too- I just got a Kobo this week(which is the Border's version). I am a cheapskate too, but Mike found it at a Border's that was going out of business so it was 60% off. Eh, it's not one of the "big names" but I've already devoured one big in a day and a half, so obviously it's working just fine!

  5. I'm a bookworm too (and an aspiring public librarian!). I read during my time on the treadmill...it seems like it's the only time I have during prep to enjoy a good book.

  6. Soooo jealous! My English major self loves trips to the library, but my shoulder doesn't when I jam pack my tote with hardcovers. I was so opposed to electronic 'books' for the longest time, but I'm starting to see how convenient they are! Let us know how you like it!

  7. I just recently got an iphone and have been streaming Netflix through my phone during cardio. Its been awesome! Cardio seems to be going by so much faster. However, since I am such a cry baby Ive had a few days where I was watching something that made me cry... on the cardio machines. Not cute. "Umm, excuse me miss are you okay? I noticed you've been crying a lot lately" I think I need to lay off the netflix. :)
