Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!

This December has been a busy month! Because we live nowhere near to either of our families, December is the month of traveling to visit relatives.

The first weekend, we went to Minnesota to visit my family. We celebrated Christmas early, as usual. For the past few years, the weather has been relatively mild in Minnesota. Not this year! When we arrived, the high was -10F. Talk about frigid! We knew it was going to be cold, so we'd packed warm clothes, but nothing can prepare you for that harsh bite of cold on the face. Brr!

I felt sicker earlier in the week and when we got to MN, I felt even sicker. I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with Influenza A. Fabulous. For the most part, I stayed put at my parents' house because I felt too awful to do anything else. Plus, I didn't want to get anyone else sick. I'm bummed I didn't get to see any of my good friends, but at the same time, I didn't want to get them or their kids sick.

Keenan Family Christmas
As always, I had such a fun time hanging out with my family. My nephews are getting so big! They're 4.5, 2.5, and 0.5 years old now. I love watching them open presents!

J's Birthday
December is also the month of J's birthday! (It's an expensive month for me!) He didn't want a party of any celebration, so we just spent some quality time together. We went out to eat to celebrate another friend's birthday, and J got a free dessert, so that made him happy.

Rhode Island
This past weekend, we flew up to Rhode Island to celebrate Christmas with J's family. While there, we met up with several other YouTube guys and had some great workouts and conversations. It's always fun to meet up in person with online friends. Each guy did a collab video of one of the workouts; it's fun to watch them and see the different perspectives! We also chatted with Steve Reeves, a bodybuilding champ and one of J's friends.

One of the gyms where we trained was so cool! It was basically in a garage, with all the equipment crammed together. One on of the old televisions, a Jay Cutler DVD was playing. It was so motivating to train there - everyone was enthusiastic, determined, and motivated. So much positive energy!

We had a really nice visit with J's family! His niece is growing up so quickly - it's hard to believe she's 2 already!

New Year
We flew home on Christmas morning, after celebrating on Christmas Eve. We were surprised by how many other people were traveling on Christmas too.

Christmas Day at the Providence airport
As we move into the New Year, I've been thinking about goals and things I want to focus on in 2014. One of my main focuses will be social media. I want to grow my online presence in an authentic and classy way (i.e. not using T&A, which is an easy - and cheap - way to get followers). I welcome any and all advice from you social media gurus! I realize I need to blog more often; that's another one of my 2014 goals. :)

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and enjoyed some quality time with family and friends!

  1. I'm interested to see what advice you receive!!!

Happy New Year to you & J!

  2. Me too!
Plus, I love following you (and T). More blogging for us stalkers!!

  3. It will be interesting to see how you grow your social media minus the T&A (you're right, so cheap). I've also wondered how, literally, the T&A shots grow these girls' careers... Because most of it certainly isn't modeling.

  4. I love to follow your blogs and you tube videos and whatever you come up with is sure to be a success. All I know is that you inspire me! Good luck in 2014. (DrivePassionFaith)

  5. If you need some help Kari lmk, I'd love to help you with your social media presence. I've done it for several people before. Happy New Year!

  6. I'm so happy to hear you want to expand your online presence (and in a non sexual way). I think that will make you stand out!! Just be your authentic self and be helpful. You'll be well on your way.

    Happy New Year!
